The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for leading end-to-end RCM operations, driving financial performance, and ensuring efficient, compliant, and scalable processes across the revenue cycle. This role focuses on cash flow optimization, denial reduction, AR management, and operational excellence, while partnering with clients, providers, and internal teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Cycle Operations Leadership

  • Oversee end-to-end RCM functions: Billing, AR Follow-up, Denial Management, and Payment Posting
  • Drive improvements in cash collections, AR days, and clean claim rates
  • Ensure seamless coordination across all revenue cycle stages

2. Financial Performance & KPI Management

  • Own and manage key metrics:
    • AR Days
    • Denial Rate
    • First Pass Resolution Rate
  • Develop cash forecasts and variance analysis
  • Identify and mitigate revenue leakage

3. Denial Prevention & AR Optimization

  • Lead initiatives to reduce denials and improve first-pass yield
  • Implement structured strategies for aged AR reduction (90+/120+)
  • Establish root cause analysis and corrective action plans

4. Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and senior stakeholders
  • Lead business reviews, performance discussions, and strategic planning
  • Build strong relationships and ensure high client satisfaction

5. Process Improvement & Automation

  • Drive process standardization and workflow optimization
  • Identify and implement automation and technology solutions
  • Enhance productivity and reduce manual effort

6. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, payer guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain strong audit controls and documentation standards
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks

7. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing RCM teams
  • Drive performance management, training, and engagement initiatives
